{gallery}wells_fargo{/gallery}With the assistance of the employees of Wells Fargo Bank in Knoxville, Habitat received a grant of $30,000 from the Wells Fargo Foundaion. Habitat will apply $15,000 per house to the homes currently under construction at 301 and 305 W. Marion Street in Knoxville. As part of the grant, bank employees volunteer their labor to help construct the houses. Wells Fargo volunteers gathered after work on July 27 to help put house wrap and roofing materials on the two houses. Thank you to Wells Fargo and to the local Wells Fargo Bank employee volunteers!  Click on the picture to see more photos.

Master Gardeners Donate to Habitat Print

Karen Ackley presents check to Habitat's Lisa Houser  Marion County Master Gardeners donated almost $700 to Habitat for Humanity on August 16.  Karen Ackley, Marion County Master Gardener Coordinator, presented the check to Lisa Houser, Executive Director of Habitat.  The money was raised by hosting the 20th Garden Tour in July.

Gardens open to the public were the Formaneks, the Sprafkas, Arvilia Bailey, Karin Graham, Sherry Greene, and the Bob and Randy Wilson farm.  The tour started at the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden south of the hospital.  This is the second year the Marion County Master Gardeners have used their energy, talents, and organization to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.
