Habitat Welcomes New Staff Member |
|
HFHMCI recently hired Lisa Crabbs as their Community Outreach Director. This position is being funded through a Capacity Building grans from Habitat for Humanity International, to be used to help Habitat affiliates expand their ability to raise funds, build more houses, and serve more families. In addition to being an advocate for affordable housing, Crabbs will also work with Board members and committee volunteers in the areas of public relations, event planning, volunteer relations, and community development. "Marion County has an exceptional attitude toward volunteering that I haven't experienced in other places," Crabbs said. She looks forward to meeting with business and community leaders to spread the Habitat message.
Crabbs was most recently working as a Housing Planner for Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments in Waterloo, where she administered local, state and federal housing grants for low- to moderate-income households in the six-county region.

Habitat Bids Farewell to Lisa Houser |

Board members of Habitat for Humanity of Marion County bid farewell to Executive Director Lisa Houser at the April 23 Board meeting. Houser has accepted the position as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Iowa beginning May 7. As ED of HFH Iowa, her primary duties will be to leverage resources to assist local Habitat affiliates in serving more families. Her initial charge will be to strengthen partnerships with affiliates, develop new funding strategies, and serve as an advocate for Habitat's mission across the state. Lisa said that her duties in her new role will still keep her involved with Marion County Habitat. We thank Lisa for her four years of service and leadership in Marion County, and wish her well as she applies those same abilities across a wider service area!
