Contributions are needed to complete our mission. We do not borrow money to build houses. The majority of our funding comes right from our local community. It takes an average of $90,000 to build a house in Marion County. Current Habitat homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments also go into our “Fund for Humanity” which goes toward building more houses here in Marion County, Iowa. Keep in mind that donations may be tax deductible. Speak to your tax advisor for details. Ways you can make a contribution.

When you donate, you not only help a family here in Marion County, Iowa, but you also help a family in Guatemala. Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, Inc. tithes 10% of our unrestricted donations to Habitat for Humanity International to be used to build houses in Guatemala. Did you know it takes only $4,000 to build a decent house in Guatemala? If you prefer that all of your donation stay in Marion County, just indicate that when you give.
